John Hegarty has created adverts for brands such as Levi, Audi, Boddingtons, K Shoes, Haagen Dazs and Xbox. It was really interesting to learn about his career and see all the campaigns he has designed for. Some advice he gave was "Tell the truth", which you need to be for legal reasons as you can't lie about a product, but you can twist the truth and tell it in an interesting way. He also said "be fearless" which I suppose you have to be to get your ideas out. You have to believe in them if you think they are good. He features a lot of fashionable youth culture in his adverts; a good example being the Lynx adverts.
I don't really like these adverts as I think they're a bit in poor taste, but then again I am not part of the market they are aiming at. The adverts are certainly memorable though.
This is probably one of his most famous adverts for Levi jeans.
This advert was for Haagen Dazs.
