One thing that stood out to me was a Keloggs advert where they were essentially blaming the wife for her husband failing at work, because she hadn’t given him any cereal before he went out. They were trying to make the wife feel guilty and therefore buy the cereal. I don’t think they would do that now as it would offend people and not do much good for the brand.
As time when on, they stopped aiming adverts just at women and included men too.
